Hotel Properties On San Diego Comic Con List Sold Out In Two Days

Atlanta (Special to sandiegocomicconnews.com) – San Diego Comic Con is known for the giant demand for hotel rooms. That commonality was tested during the Pandemic. But one sure sign that we’re out of the bad Pandemic-related economic conditions is the fact that, as of today, May 4th (May the 4th be with you), all of the hotel rooms on the 55 properties listed are all sold out.

Moreover, the none of the hotel room prices per day are below $200, which means they set the tone for what you will be spending for a stay at San Diego Comic Con. But do not be discouraged for one reason.

The San Diego region has a ton of hotels, and deals can be found at properties at Hotel Circle North and South. But use a travel site like Expendia to find whatever deals are left.

The time to look for hotels for SDCC is the fall of the year before it is set. Yes, that early. SDCC regularly draws over 100,000 people, and before the Pandemic, that number was pushing towards 200,000.

Given that there aren’t as many expected tent pole movies at San Diego Comic Con 2024 as of this writing, this year may be at the 130,000 range. But then the new Superman movie cast is slated to attend SDCC, so that could push numbers to 150,000. That’s pretty much back to normal.

In fact, that site also reports on parking passes. Take a read:

Now that SDCC Hotelpocalypse is over for 2024, the next hurdle appears for those who did not get lodging within walking distance: parking. As in prior years, Ace Parking will be running a lottery for access to the parking sale. Typically, the two most popular parking lots are the convention center lot and the Hilton Bayfront lot. Both of these tend to sell our early in the Group 2 allocation, however, there are many other lots available in the Gaslamp area.

Ace will begin accepting lottery entries on May 8, and will release results on June 10. Ace is targeting the sale for Group 1 to open on June 17.

Due to issues with spam-bot entries to the parking lottery in the past, Ace is requiring that each entry be attached to a valid credit card. The card will not be charged, but it will be pre-authorized. 2 entries are allowed per valid credit card.
