Oakland A’s Lew Wolff Hated Oakland Wanted Team In SF Giants Territory Against MLB RulesWow. Lew Wolff . The man I thought left Oakland for good had to weigh in on the Oakland A’s departure for Las Vegas, where a state-of-the-art ballpark is well under construction. By all accounts, it will be ready for the 2028 MLB Season, and finished by winter of 2027.In a kind of “celebration” of the future, real estate developer, hotelier, and former Oakland Athletics Managing Partner Lew Wolff announced the release of his new book, Moments. Published by Rare Bird, the book is a reflection on the pivotal decisions that shape careers, businesses, and industries.Wolff writes in “Moments” that the A’s are no longer in the Bay Area “100 percent due to the nasty, shameful, and continuing opposition of the Giants,” who refused to relent territorial rights to Santa Clara County. That area includes San Jose, the most populous city in the Bay Area, which Wolff’s A’s coveted as a destination for their relocation.Meanwhile Oakland’s economy is in a constant downward post-pandemic tailspin after losing all three major sports teams, and allowing itself to think brand new teams in minor league organizations no one knew about would replace the Athletics, the Oakland Raiders, and the Golden State Warriors. Oakland still needs a developer and elected officials who collectively believe sports should be in it. Lew Wolff was one of those who proved time and again he wasn’t one of them. Many believe to this day Lew Wolff hates Oakland. Wolff’s statement proves the claim. He never wanted the A’s in Oakland.Take 2009, when Lew Wolff ignored the then-new Coliseum City complex idea created by Frank Dobson, Bob Lesty, and Steve Lowe. Wolff was known to be in love with a concept called the baseball village and needed a lot of land to make that work, hence the Fremont land chase. But the idea called for hundreds of acres of land, more than the A’s organization could afford given the economy and so needing public money turned to Fremont, which turned a deaf ear to their request. Meanwhile, Wolff claims today that the Oakland Mayor (Jerry Brown or Ron Dellums) did not want to spend public money on the A’s, when the truth is the Fremont Mayor didn’t either.Lew did not get support among Oakland poliicos because he never showed he was committed to building a facility that would be the prize of the Oakland Community.By contrast, give A’s President Dave Kaval for actually crafting a plan that did have the community in mind, even to the point of using tax increment financing. The sad truth is that while Dave Kavel helped make a special tax increment financing law, the City of Oakland lacked the in-house or consultant expertise to bring it to the finish-line of implementation. But back to Lew Wolff. There are those who believe Lew Wolff was not pro-Oakland because, they believe, he was a right-wing, anti-black republican. The truth is, Lew Wolf was a democrat and its hard to find a single republican who got any of his money. Also, from personal experience, I did not pick up a hint of direct racism when I met him during an A’s game in 2003. We even talked about the Oakland Baseball Simworld game for the classroom I created, which was based on the A’s. (Now, the A’s did try to steal my game but Major League Baseball stopped them from doing it.)All of that said, however, the fact is Lew Wolff expressed little love for Oakland. Upon reflection, I think it was because Oakland did not allow him to have the giant area of land he need to make his baseball village concept work, and his initial plan called for the displacement of a number of key Oakland businesses. That’s a good way to piss off the wrong people, and Wolff certainly did just that. Now, Wolff complains that the San Francisco Giants stopped the A’s from moving into San Jose’s area. I can say the Giants had good reason for that. As Larry Bear told me back around 2003, 47 percent of the Giants fan base comes from the South Bay Area, of which San Jose is the dominant city. In other words, Lew Wolf was threatening the Giants bottom line, not to mention trying to ignore the very MLB Constitution. The MLB Constiution then and now divides the San Francisco Bay Area into two: East Bay and West Bay, with San Jose part of the West Bay and Oakland the center-city of the East Bay. Lew Wolff and the A’s and the City of San Jose tried to challenge that arrangement and lost in court. The City of San Jose challenged MLB’s constitution and antitrust exemption in 2013-2015 to allow the Oakland A’s to move to San Jose. The courts upheld baseball’s antitrust exemption, ending the bid to move the team. So, really, Lew Wolff should admit that he did not work with Oakland, Dave Kavel got a deal done where Lew Wolff did not. At least Dave has the good sense to move on and not point fingers at the wrong people. Thanks Dave for not insulting Oakland.

Note from https://sandiegocomicconnews.com/, Zennie62 YouTube, and Zennie62Media: this San Diego Comic Con News video-blog post demonstrates the full and live operation of the latest updated version of an experimental Zennie62Media , Inc. mobile media video-blogging system network that was launched June 2018.
This is a major part of Zennie62Media , Inc.’s new and innovative approach to the production of news media. This is what we call “The Third Wave of Media”.
The uploaded video is either from a YouTuber vlogger with the Zennie62 on YouTube Partner Channel, or from a YouTube Channel that has uploaded a video with a keyword that triggers our predetermined keyword, and so then it is posted. In either case, the video is uploaded to and formatted automatically at the San Diego Comic Con News site and Zennie62Media -created and owned social media pages.
The overall objective is smartphone-enabled, real-time, on the scene reporting of news, interviews, observations, and happenings anywhere in the World and within seconds and not hours. Now, news is reported with a smartphone: no heavy and expensive cameras or even a laptop are necessary, thus less chance for Zennie62Blog, Zennie62 YouTube vloggers to be robbed.
The secondary objective is faster, and very inexpensive media content news production and distribution. We have found there is a disconnect between post length and time to product and revenue generated. With this, the problem is far less, though by no means solved. Zennie62Media is constantly working to improve the system network coding and seeks interested content and media technology investors and partners.
